The Stress & Translation_lab is a joint venture launched in 2013 by Juan José  Berlanga (UAM), César de Haro (CSIC), Miguel A. Rodríguez (UAM) and Iván Ventoso (UAM) to investigate how eukaryotic cells reprogram gene expression in order to cope with stress. Our work is focused on postranscriptional regulation, mainly translation control. We are inspired by the figure of Severo Ochoa, one of the pioneers in deciphering the genetic code and in describing how the ribosome recruit the mRNAs for translation. We are committed to integrate different biological models and approaches in a "open lab" concept  aimed to be transversal rather than hierarchical.
